Rattlesnake Vaccination

Rattlesnakes are prevalent in our area which is why we offer the rattlesnake vaccination. Here is some general information:

-No, the vaccine will not prevent your dog from being bitten. The vaccine gives you extra time to get to get to a veterinary practice for help if your pet is bitten.

-The vaccine works by stimulating your dog’s immune system to defend against the rattlesnake venom.

-For the first year, the vaccine is given in two shots. The first being the primary & the booster shot is given 4 weeks later. After that it is just a yearly vaccine.

-We recommend giving your pet the vaccine 1 month before rattlesnake season starts, (in Eastern Washington the season is from March-October).
