This is an outline of recommended vaccinations and other procedures for nursing beef calves. It is divided in to Spring and Fall. These recommendations should work well for most producers but there is always room to adjust for specific needs.
Spring
Respiratory Vaccines:
Inforce 3 with or without One Shot BVD
Bovi-Shield Gold 5
Clostridial (“Blackleg”, “7 or 8-way” Vaccines
Usually use the same vaccine both in the Spring and the Fall
UltraChoice 8: (2c 8-way) or Ultrabac 8 (5cc 8-way) or:
Ultrabac 7 Somubac: (5cc 7-way with Histophilus somni)
Other Procedures:
De-worming: Dectomax Injection De-wormer, especially for spring-calving herds prior to turn-out on pasture.
